Here’s a set of free pocket-sized COLOURS cards for you to use with little ones! There are seven colour words in the set: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.
I teach these seven colours as the rainbow colours although I am aware that, officially, the rainbow has indigo and violet instead of purple and pink. However, as an ESL preschool teacher I prefer to keep it simple and teach the basic colours.
If you want more colours, check out our flashcard packs in store:
**COLOURS FLASHCARDS PACK** (includes 20 colours)
**COLOURS & SHAPES ESSENTIALS FLASHCARDS PACK** (includes 12 colours & 12 shapes)
These packs include editable picture-word cards, picture only cards and word only cards. You can also print them at 4 different sizes!
Check out our fun colours song The Colours of the Rainbow!
We have other COLOURS resources you may like to use together with the cards. See end of post for more!
HOW TO USE THE COLOURS CARDS
- These small, portable cards are ideal for word walls, home use and also for vocabulary games. There are four flashcards to a page.
- You can punch holes in one corner of the cards and keep them together using a binder ring.
- For best results print the cards at high quality on card or photo paper. We recommend laminating the cards for durability.

Thanks for creating amazing teaching materials. It will help my students a lot. There is only one thing i want to comment that is: the download part is quite small and not easy to find. I think a lot of peple may find it difficult to download your flashcards. That’s just my idea. Hope it useful for your website. Anyways, thanks a lot ^^
Thanks for the feedback! We’ll certainly bear it in mind 😉
