If you’re around little kids a lot you probably know all about Baby Shark – the song that’s become a kindergarten sensation. In fact it was originally a camp song, with rather more gruesome lyrics than the versions you’ll find on You Tube!
The success of the song comes from the repetition and the simplicity of the lyrics. Add to this some dance actions and you’ve got the winning formula for a really catchy teaching tool! Plus it’s really easy to invent and add your own verses. In case Baby Shark has escaped you, you can see the most popular version on You Tube here.
I made these flashcards for my Baby Shark obsessed students to teach about family members. The original song includes Baby, Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, but I add a couple of verses of my own when we sing it in class to include Brother and Sister.
As a special bonus I’m offering them in both pocket and large sizes, so grab your copies! I’ve also included words for UK English (Mummy) and US English (Mommy) within the same PDF.
HOW TO USE THE BABY SHARK FLASHCARDS:
- These small, portable cards are ideal for word walls, home use and also for vocabulary games. There are four flashcards to a page.
- You can punch holes in one corner of the cards and keep them together using a binder ring.
- For best results print the cards at high quality on card or photo paper. We recommend laminating the cards for durability.
